An erstwhile web game, Happy Wheels is currently topping the lists of best gaming apps currently available on the iPhone and iPad. In this game, the user controls a business man moving on a Segway through numerous puzzles and past many obstacles that try to impede his ace or destroy him completely. As a well-known review states, “This sounds very simple, but eventually you’ll need to chain together jumps, fans, buttons and leaning and crawling to get to the end of the level.” Using simple controls, the player makes his way through many levels and also through custom levels which he can share with other interested players.
Well, although every inch as interesting as it is claimed to be, the accident simulation can get a bit gory at times. The sound effects of bones crashing, object colliding and much more; along with the visual that have an overdose of blood and mutilated body parts strewn about – the effects of it all can be jarring. There are characters like that of the Irresponsible Dad or the Wheelchair Man, who often get squashed into pulp because of their inadequate riding skills. The level editor allows players to design death traps for their friends to use! There are many popular payer created levels that can be quite interesting to play.
The initial chapter is of a Business Guy who runs around in a personal transporter. There are fifteen unique and challenging levels on the whole, along with which the player can also design their own levels to satisfy their malicious intentions and use these against both friends and enemies alike. Some other features include the fatal obstacles in the form of spikes, mines, harpoons and lots of others. To top it all, the physics is scientific and tailored to the laws that govern the accidents.
However, the game is not fit for children and is aptly rated for youngsters above the age of twelve, because of the following reasons:
- Infrequent/Mild Realistic Violence
- Frequent/Intense Profanity or Crude Humour
- Frequent/Intense Cartoon or Fantasy Violence
iOS users can download it from their Apple stores and enjoy playing it on their iPads and iPhones. The Android release of the game is however not predictable.
